What it is
Phaseolus angularis seed powder is ground adzuki bean, used for centuries in Japan as a washing powder (arai-ko) and gentle facial scrub. The milled particles are softer and rounder than mineral grits, so they abrade less aggressively, and the bean's natural saponins add a slight cleansing effect. It appears mainly in dry powder cleansers and mask bases that you mix with water in the palm.
