Weleda

Exo Boost Hydrobounce Tuchmaske

Weleda's answer to the K-beauty sheet, and the brand's marketing leans on 'exosomes peptides technology' - what the list actually shows is kiwi fruit water second, a centella leaf cell culture extract sixth and sodium hyaluronate seventh. Honest enough as a humectant sheet; note that half the declaration is the essential-oil perfume, which is a real consideration if fragrance is a problem for you.

What stands out in the list

Worked out from the ingredients, not the packaging claims.

  • Contains fragrance

Listed as Parfum/Fragrance, which can stand for dozens of undisclosed aroma chemicals. Fragrance is one of the most common causes of cosmetic contact allergy.

  • 8 declared fragrance allergens

EU law requires these to be named on the pack: Benzyl Alcohol, Citral, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Linalyl Acetate, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil.

  • 5 essential oils

Naturally derived, and a frequent trigger for reactive skin: Cananga Odorata Oil/Extract, Citrus Aurantium Peel Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Lavandula Oil/Extract, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil.

  • Phototoxic citrus oils

Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil can carry furocoumarins, which increase sun sensitivity unless the oil is furocoumarin-free.

  • Contains drying alcohol

Alcohol denat. appears at position 9, well down the list, so the amount is likely small.

  • 2 concentration-capped ingredients

EU law sets a maximum for Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil. Products on sale in the EU must comply. It also sets one for Citral, which products must comply with from 1 January 2027.

  • 1 ingredient flagged for pregnancy

Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil is usually avoided or used with caution during pregnancy. This is what the ingredient entries say, not medical advice, so ask your midwife or doctor.

Unfold onto cleansed skin and smooth from the middle of the face outwards, leaving 10 to 20 minutes. Remove the sheet and massage the remaining serum in rather than rinsing.
