What stands out in the list

Worked out from the ingredients, not the packaging claims.

  • Contains fragrance

Listed as Parfum/Fragrance, which can stand for dozens of undisclosed aroma chemicals. Fragrance is one of the most common causes of cosmetic contact allergy.

  • 7 declared fragrance allergens

EU law requires these to be named on the pack: Limonene, Linalool, Menthol, Eucalyptus Globulus Oil, Citral, Geraniol, Coumarin.

  • 2 essential oils

Naturally derived, and a frequent trigger for reactive skin: Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Oil.

  • Drying alcohol, high in the list

Alcohol Denat. appears at position 5, so it is a major part of the formula. Expect a fast, matte finish and possible tightness on dry or reactive skin.

  • Cooling agents

Menthol, Eucalyptus Globulus Oil produce a tingle that reads as "working", but they can irritate compromised skin.

  • 3 concentration-capped ingredients

EU law sets a maximum for Sodium Hydroxide. Products on sale in the EU must comply. It also sets one for Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Citral, which products must comply with from 1 January 2027.

  • 2 ingredients flagged for pregnancy

Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Oil are usually avoided or used with caution during pregnancy. This is what the ingredient entries say, not medical advice, so ask your midwife or doctor.
