lavera
basis sensitiv Anti-Falten Gesichtsmaske
€1.95 · €0.98/use
Forty-two ingredients, and the interesting ones are the butters and unsaponifiables - mango seed butter, olive oil unsaponifiables, abyssinian oil, rapeseed sterols - rather than the ubiquinone at fifteen. Soybean oil is second, but denatured alcohol is third, which is worth weighing against the 'basis sensitiv' positioning.
What stands out in the list
Worked out from the ingredients, not the packaging claims.
Contains fragrance
Listed as Parfum/Fragrance, which can stand for dozens of undisclosed aroma chemicals. Fragrance is one of the most common causes of cosmetic contact allergy.
5 declared fragrance allergens
EU law requires these to be named on the pack: Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral.
Drying alcohol, high in the list
Alcohol denat. appears at position 3, so it is a major part of the formula. Expect a fast, matte finish and possible tightness on dry or reactive skin.
Exfoliating acids
Contains Lactic Acid. Use sunscreen the following day; EU law caps these.
2 concentration-capped ingredients
EU law sets a maximum for Sodium Hydroxide. Products on sale in the EU must comply. It also sets one for Citral, which products must comply with from 1 January 2027.
Nothing flagged for pregnancy
No ingredient on this list is one our encyclopaedia marks as avoided or used with caution in pregnancy. That is not the same as a clearance, so check with your midwife or doctor.
